TDI is the largest technical certification agency in the world.  As one of the first agencies to provide training in mixed gas diving and rebreathers, TDI is seen as an innovator of new diving techniques and programs which previously were not available to the general public.  Training with TDI has provided divers with the opportunity to see such wrecks as the Andrea Doria, Lusitania and the Prince of Wales.  TDI divers have explored underwater caves in Spain, Australia and Mexico and assisted as support divers on world record freedives done in the Red Sea.

TDI’s professionals are held to the highest standard to ensure quality training throughout the world.  This means that as a diver taking a TDI course, your instructor will have documented his experience and knowledge prior to achieving that rating.  As an instructor candidate taking a TDI course, your TDI instructor trainer will have gone through the paces to achieve the highest level of training that TDI offers.

TDI is committed to offering the highest quality training supported by the latest materials with the most up to date information and techniques.  TDI’s materials are written by authors that acutely conduct the type of diving they are writing about.  Those same materials are updated as technology and equipment change.

TDI Courses

Adirondack Scuba is one of the first TDI technical dive shops in the North East. Our instructors are technical divers who are dedicated to the sport. We can teach you how to dive with doubles, sidemount and on the Hollis Prism rebreather. Our shop has one of the only Oxygen compatible compressors in the area which enables us to fill high O2 mixes for your stage bottles and 100% O2 fills for your rebreather tanks. We also can fill Trimix and Oxygen clean your tanks and regulators.

 TDI Nitrox

TDI Nitrox Diver Course is an entry-level course for divers wishing to continue their diver education and utilize enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas to extend no-decompression limits at depth. This is an elearning  class that can be taught on an individual basis. It is a core class required for upper level TDI classes such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Theory.

Intro to Tech

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is an introductory course that expands on recreational training by improving dive planning methods, in-water skills, and streamlining existing gear configurations in a controlled and fun learning environment.  You can expect to learn In-depth dive planning, advanced buoyancy control, gas management, situational awareness, proper trim, gear configuration and selection

Sidemount

This class is for the certified diver who is looking to dive with a sidemount cylinders instead of a standard back mount unit.

Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Theory

Are you looking to expand your dive time? Maybe you’re a scientific diver or photographer looking to stay in the water a little longer? The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 percent within your current certification level to a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. TDI Advanced Nitrox is also a must for SCR or CCR divers.

Helitrox Diver

The TDI Helitrox Diver Course examines the theory, methods, and procedures for planning staged decompression dives utilizing helium in the breathing mixture to reduce the effects of inert gas narcosis.

The TDI Helitrox Diver Course trains divers how to plan and conduct staged decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 metres/150 feet. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up, and decompression techniques are also presented during this course. Students are permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox and helium mixes with no greater than 35% helium content, and up to 100% oxygen for decompression diving.

Rebreather Diver

Unit Specific for Hollis Prism. The TDI Air Diluent Closed Circuit Diver Course is your first step into closed circuit rebreather diving and your first truly quiet diving experience. Using the latest in technology CCR’s maximize your gas supply of Nitrox and provide the optimum breathing gas for any depth by maintaining a constant partial pressure of oxygen (PPO2). During the dives (minimum of seven) your TDI Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills to conduct CCR dives to a maximum depth of 30 m/100 feet.

We can teach any classes on the Hollis Prism Rebreather up to Trimix. Contact the shop for more information.
